What Makes a Center for Independent Living Successful?

Consumers:
Without persons with disabilities a center can not survive. A center exists to provide needed services to all persons with disabilities regardless of sexual orientation, gender, religious beliefs, race or ethnic origins.

Needs Assessment:
A needs assessment needs to be done so that services can be identified and prioritized as needed.

Delivery of Services:
Program services may differ among CIL’s because of the community’s composition of people with disabilities. Regardless of the types of disabilities, transportation, housing, physical and program accessibility rate high.

Satisfaction Survey:
The satisfaction survey identifies the quality of services delivered. Consumers must be treated with dignity, courtesy, and respect and expect results from the services being provided to them. They submit the Satisfaction Survey upon completion of services.
